Henry is a fine line artist whose work blends architectural precision with surrealist imagination.
After relocating to London in 2019 to start a career in kitchen design, he ignited his passion for creating intricate, captivating artwork. Working his way through his local architecture and then taking on commissions.
Through his art, he now seeks to offer a fresh perspective on some of London’s most iconic landmarks, fusing the familiar with the bizarre.

The Process
To the left is a quick video showing an insight into the process of how I complete my illustrations.
In short, it all starts with the guidelines and proportions in pencil. Then slowly building up the details and finally outlining everything in pen and adding in the textures.
By drawing the correct proportions in pencil at the beginning, it allows you to freely explore the page and make guidelines without the risk of permanent mistakes or marks.
I like to use the pressure of the pen for adding in textures and shading. Lightly drifting over the paper creates thin and faded lines which can add texture to even the most overexposed parts of the subject. For darker areas, you can opt for a thicker pen, or you can use a very fine pen but increase the frequency of the lines.
I think it’s important to practice your skills in situation. Drawing an object or person when it’s right there in front of is a real test to your ability.
There’s no cheat sheet to it and you’ll learn much more than drawing from a screen or picture.
